Dear Sirs,
I am writing to express my strong objection to the proposal for
increasing the number of AM's in the Senedd. This would not only
result in a further waste of taxpayers' money, but it is also
concerning that the current AM's are not subject to a recall. Not
being able to elect my own AM feels undemocratic, almost
dictatorial and certainly not Socialist.
As a taxpayer who has been living in Wales for the past 68 years, I
feel that the AM's are not representing the wishes of the
taxpayers. Furthermore, important information regarding speed
restriction surveys is not being adequately discussed in the
Senedd. Specifically, the imposition of a mandatory 20 mph speed
limit on our roads, which goes against the majority of the
population's preferences, and the additional COVID lockdown over
Christmas and New Year, which had a detrimental impact on family
life and local businesses.
I fail to see any justification for adding more members to the
Senedd, and I strongly believe that the funds could be better
allocated to the Welsh NHS. The healthcare system in Wales has been
striving to reach the standards set by England for years, and it
has faced significant challenges, particularly during the COVID
pandemic, due to the mismanagement by the Senedd.
Yours faithfully.
